Ng Xian Fei

Biography

Xian Fei began her Classical Ballet training at the age of 6 under Ms Herlinda Sutiono, and subsequently continued her training under the tutelage of Ms Lena Foo at Dancepointe Academy Singapore.

She has completed the Royal Academy of Dance Classical Ballet Grades 2 to 8, as well as the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Graded Examinations from Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2.

In addition to her Classical Ballet training, Xian Fei continues to develop her Contemporary dance technique through regular training with dACADEMY under Ms Ng Xian Cui.

Xian Fei expanded her repertoire into Contemporary and Chinese Dance during her secondary and tertiary education, training under Tan Chai Hwang, Low Ee Chiang and Dan Kwoh. She joined dACADEMY’s Performance and Competition Team (dTEAM) in 2014 and the Senior Apprentice Team in 2015 as an inaugural member, and has represented her teams on both national and international stages for subsequent years until 2024, including 4 years with dTEAM under Mr Goh Shouyi. Beyond the competition stage, Xian Fei has also participated in several overseas immersion programmes at renowned international institutions, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) – University of Melbourne and Institute of the Arts Barcelona (IAB).

Xian Fei believes that movement is both a science and an art. Having experienced the rigors of intensive dance training, she developed an appreciation for the body’s mechanics, resilience, and the discipline required for high-level performance. This led her to the field of physiotherapy, where she now translates that passion into helping others regain confidence in movement.

Xian Fei continues to share her passion for dance as an Apprentice Teacher for the TEAMdpa competition teams. She hopes to draw upon her expertise in physiotherapy and MFA in Dance Science to guide young dancers toward technical excellence, safe training habits and sustainable artistic growth.
