Biography
Vernice embarked on her dance journey at the age of 7 with a foundation in ballet at Dancepointe, under the tutelage of Ms Ivy Ng. She has completed RAD Graded Examinations from Primary to Grade 8, as well as Vocational Graded Examinations from Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 1. Currently, she is pursuing Advanced 2.
As her passion for the art form blossomed, she delved into various dance styles through her participation in her primary school's dance club. Under the mentorship of Ms Kok Huishi and Mr Yutaki Ong, Vernice expanded her repertoire to include Contemporary and Street Jazz. During her secondary school days, she was further trained in Contemporary and Chinese Dance under the guidance of Dr Danny Tan.
Her love for performing and expressing one's self has led her to actively participate in all of Dancepointe's ballet concerts, such as her appearance as the stepmother in Dancepointe's Cinderella production in 2022. Not only that, she was also part of Dancepointe's Junior and Senior Apprentice team. In 2021, she was handpicked by Dr Peter Gn to be in the Presence Project Dance Company, whereby she was privileged to be guided by seasoned dance experts across multiple dance genres, such as Ms Stacie Leong.
Having immersed herself in diverse dance forms, Vernice has cultivated a profound appreciation for the significance of versatility and the exploration of the human body as a means of expressing emotions and experiences beyond the confines of language. Her aspiration is to foster a deeper connection with dance in others, enabling them to appreciate and bask in the joys of performance.
