Eliz Khoo Jingyi

Biography

Eliz's passion for dance ignited at the age of 7, under the guidance of Ms Crystal Lum at Dancepointe Academy. 

During her formative years, Eliz excelled in various dance events, such as the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), where she not only participated but also attained certificates of distinction and accomplishment, as well as other large scale events such as Chingay.

Her dedication and talent led her to be a part of Dancepointe's acclaimed ballet productions, including performances in "The Grinch" (2018) and "Cinderella" (2022).

Seeking to broaden her horizons, Eliz auditioned for Dancepointe's apprentice company in 2015 and was accepted into the First Apprentice programme. This opportunity exposed her to diverse dance genres such as lyrical, contemporary, and jazz, paving the way for new experiences and friendships.

Under the mentorship of esteemed teachers like Ms. Crystal Lum and Ms. Ng Xian Cui, Eliz honed her skills and flourished as a dancer. Her talent and hard work were recognized through various competitions, including the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD), Get the Beat (GTB), Asia Pacific Dance Competition (APDC), and Singapore Challenge Cup (SCC), where she clinched multiple awards.  Including that of her debut solo performance, where she secured a 3rd place against 25 competitors.

Currently, Eliz has completed up to the RAD Intermediate Foundation examination, showcasing her proficiency and dedication to dance.

Throughout her journey, Eliz remains grateful for the guidance and mentorship she received, acknowledging the invaluable lessons imparted by her teachers. With a passion that continues to fuel her ambition, Eliz hopes to inspire and guide future generations of young dancers.
