Wenny Susanty

Biography

Wenny Susanty started learning ballet at the age of 5 and has since then developed a strong passion in it. By the age of 17, she had completed the Royal Academy of Dance ballet graded examinations and vocational graded examinations till Advanced 2 with High Merits and Distinctions. In 2009, she was the only candidate from her hometown in Medan, Indonesia, having the privilege to compete in the prestigious RAD Genee Ballet Competition held in Singapore.

During her training years, Wenny has taken Solo Seal Examination, participated in various dance competitions and played the main roles in ballet performances “Cinderella” and “Snow White” with Aurora Ballet Centre in Medan, Indonesia, in 2007 and 2010 respectively. In 2007, she participated in RAD Indonesia 3rd International Summer School and was awarded as “The Most Improved Student in Ballet” on higher grade level. Not only in ballet, Wenny also has various achievements in modern dance competitions. Her team won 1st place at the provincial-level “XL Dance Competition” in 2008. She was also a finalist in the senior category in the Grand Prix Indonesia 2016 dance competition in Surabaya, Indonesia.

Wenny has been teaching classical ballet for 12 years in a wide range of levels starting from pre-school level to Advanced 1 level. She also has experiences teaching other genres of dance such as Modern and Jazz. Throughout her teaching career, she was known as a creative and passionate dance teacher. Her calling is to empower students and build their confidence by giving constructive feedback and encouragement. One of her most rewarding experiences as a teacher was to successfully train her students to win gold medals at ballet repertoire competitions held by Aurora Ballet Centre in Medan, Indonesia.

She has now embarked on a new journey with Dancepointe Academy Singapore as a full time teacher and is keen to share her passion for dance with those she teaches
