Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts in Ballet and Contemporary Dance; Rambert School London,

Biography

Thaddaeus began his journey in dance at the age of three, training initially in Jazz and Tap before progressing into Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

He began competing at the age of six and went on to win more than 16 Gold Awards at the Asia Pacific Dance Competition, 1st Place at the Pre-Geneé Singapore Nationals, and an Outstanding Dance Award at the Janet Cram Awards in London.

At the age of 12, Thaddaeus joined the pioneering cohort of the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), where he decided to pursue dance professionally. At 15, he was offered accelerated entry into the second year of the programme at Rambert School in London, graduating at just 17 with a Bachelor of Arts in Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

His professional career began at 18 with Danish Ballet Company Peter Schaufuss Balletten. Over five seasons, he progressed through the ranks to become a Principal Dancer, performing leading roles in productions including Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, among others.

He subsequently performed as a soloist with English National Ballet and National Contemporary Ballet.

Driven by a desire to further develop his artistic practice, Thaddaeus expanded into Contemporary dance, travelling across 15 countries from the Netherlands to Israel and working with various companies and artists, including Batsheva Dance Company. His career has also given him the opportunity to perform works by and interact with internationally renowned choreographers including Russell Maliphant, Angelin Preljocaj and Sharon Eyal.

Alongside his performing career, Thaddaeus has developed extensive experience as a teacher, coach and rehearsal director. He has served as Rehearsal Director for One Dance Asia and for Jeffrey Tan’s production of The Nutcracker with Singapore Ballet, working closely with dancers on the staging, preparation and refinement of repertoire.

He has also served for several years as a Senior Teacher at a Dance Academy, teaching and mentoring dancers across different training levels. In addition, he has coached numerous competitive young dancers privately for competitions and choreographed both Solo and Goup works across Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz and Contemporary dance. His competition coaching has led to notable results, including one of his students receiving the only grand prize for Contemporary Solo at the 2025 Masterpiece IBC Competition.

Drawing on his background in both Classical Ballet and Contemporary dance, Thaddaeus’ teaching combines strong technical foundations with musicality, artistry and performance development, with an emphasis on helping dancers understand not only how movement is executed, but how it is communicated on stage.
