Lena Foo

Biography

Ms. Lena Foo is an esteemed Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) since 1997, renowned for guiding students to Distinction in their examinations, up to the RAD Advanced 2 level. She also fulfills pivotal roles as a Practical Teaching Supervisor and Mentor for the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (RAD CBTS 404), having mentored a generation of RAD Registered Teachers from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Her protégés, many of whom have been embraced by Dancepointe Academy through the RAD CBTS Sponsorship, exhibit exceptional teaching prowess, mirroring Ms. Foo's dedication and pedagogical excellence.

Beyond ballet, Ms. Foo contributes her expertise to the Jazz syllabi as a Teaching Member of the Australian Teachers of Dancing International (ATODI). At Dancepointe Academy, she has been instrumental in shaping a curriculum that sees dance as a cornerstone of education. She spearheads the Annual Overseas Dance Competition and Immersion Programmes, leading students to international stages from Hong Kong to London, enhancing their global cultural literacy.

Ms. Foo's nurturing guidance saw students accepted into the prestigious dance institutions such as Roehampton University, Central Ballet School London and Falmouth University. Her dedication to providing performance opportunities is showcased through the annual concerts organised by various Dancepointe Academy faculties, designed to highlight the abilities and achievements of our students in different genres. From 2011 to 2016, under her leadership, Dancepointe's Senior Apprentice Group and soloists garnered top accolades in the CSTD Asia Pacific and Singapore Dance Competitions.

Founder of Dancepointe @ Taman Jurong in December 2005, Ms. Foo's vision catalyzed the expansion of Dancepointe Academy to different regions in Singapore, now a bastion of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop dance education across Singapore and RAD Ballet in China, Shenyang. Presently, Ms. Foo is focused on cultivating Soloists for Pre-Professional Ballet Competitions, with her students consistently attaining commendable success. Her leadership extends to managing Dancepointe Academy's competitive teams alongside a formidable team of 30 teachers.

Holding a Bachelor Degree in Business from Nanyang Technological University, with a major in Marketing and a minor in Applied Economics, she initially pursued a management career in the F&B industry's marketing realm before founding Dancepointe Education Group. Today, Ms. Foo stands at the forefront as the Artistic Director of Dancepointe Academy, continuing to inspire and shape the future of dance.
