OUR VISION:
“Dance is movement; Movement is life”
Dancepointe wants to reach out to everyone who has the heart to dance and wants dance to be part of their life! And the courses have to be affordable before anyone can dance. We want specifically the people in the suburbs! The fact that we are located in community clubs near the residential areas, and not in the malls, proves the fact of whom our targeted audience and our affordable courses fees. Everyone and anyone can learn to dance and within the vicinity of their homes now!
Dancepointe @ Taman Jurong CC as our flagship studio followed by Dancepointe@ Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre and Dancepointe @ Anchorvale CC (Off Anchorvale Road, serving residents at Upper Serangoon, Hougang, Sengkang, Jalan Kayu and Ang Mo Kio). At the moment in other suburbs, we run dance courses in various community clubs and schools so that we can reach out to the dance passionate out there.
Furthermore, our teachers are passionate dance teachers who are dedicated to develop dancers for the community. Our diversity in providing different types of dance courses such as Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop, give our students the chance to pick up various types of dance, and enjoy them!
One of our aims as well, is to groom our potential students to dance teachers in the various dance genres. These teachers in turn pass on their passion of dance and dance knowledge to the new generation and this will help the dance scene in Singapore to develop further. We believe “Passion always makes one grow!” For supporting this vision, we had over the years sponsored our teachers and trainee teachers for the teachers’ courses organized by various dance bodies.
We focus on our students’ progress in Dance and we believe “Dance is an Education”. To realize our plans, we have various external dance examinations and certifications such as Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Australian of Dance International (ATODI) and Commonwealth Society of Teachers Dancing (CSTD). We are also actively involved in many community dance projects such as “National Day”, “Opening Ceremony for Anchorvale CC” with PM Lee as the Guest of honour, Public performances for KFC Chicky Club Road shows and many others (the event list can be found on our website). We have bi-annual performances in theatres as well – our most recent “Realm 2006 at NUS Cultural Theatre”. These performance opportunities give our students exposure and allow them to be highly motivated in their learning at class. Yearly, we also organize Overseas Exchange Programme – Sydney Dance Tour, and at the same time, invite overseas Dance teachers to Dancepointe for Summer School Dance programme in June.
These are the reasons why Dancepointe is different from others; we go all out to venture for greater opportunities for the development of our students and focus “Dance as an Education”.
