Ms Lena Foo (Co-Founder and Dance Director)

Ms Lena
Foo is a registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
and is into her 10th year in teaching RAD Classical
Ballet Syllabi . The extent of Lena’s exposure has allowed her to
originate numerous choreographies incorporating a variety of styles
including Jazz and Contemporary dance. She is also a Teaching
Member of the Jazz Syllabi - Australian Teachers of Dancing
International (ATOD)
Lena
co-founded Dancepointe @ Taman Jurong in December 2005, as the
flagship studio. 2 new branches at Jurong West SRC and
Sengkang Anchorvale CC sprang up later on. Subsequently, under the
brand name of Dancepointe, Jazz and Hiphop courses started running
in Sengkang CC, Tampines Central CC, Tampines West CC and Tanjong
Pagar CC.
Lena
began learning Classical Ballet at the age of 5, where her deep love
for dancing saw her progressing to pursue her studies for Grades 1
to 8 at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded Syllabus
Examinations as well as for the Higher levels in the Vocational
Graded Examinations. (A key essential for anyone who desires to be a
professional teacher or dancer) Later on, she furthered her dance
training in Jazz under a highly regarded Jazz Teacher in the dance
arena, Mr Derrick Ee.
Although
primarily trained in Classical Ballet, Lena's passion for dancing
has led her to explore various dance facets, incorporating a myriad
of styles ranging from Classical Ballet to Jazz and Contemporary

Lena also
holds a Bachelor Degree in Business (Marketing Major) from the
Nanyang Technological University. She pursued a full time job in
Marketing for 5 years before setting up Dancepointe Singapore.
Classical Ballet
Ms Ivy Ng
Ms Ivg
Ng started dancing at the age of 5, with Major in Classical Ballet.
She was enrolled into “Viana Music and Ballet Academy” (Malaysia)
and had completed all levels up to Intermediate in Royal Academy of
Dancing (RAD, UK) Classical Ballet Certifications. Besides the long
years of dance training, she was part of the “Batu Dance Theatre” in
Malaysia (2003), performing in several choreographies, e.g. “I U
Night” (1998). Others are with "Viana Music and Ballet Academy" from
1998 – 2002 and “Jie Ti ING” (2003).
Later on, Ivy’s passion for dancing has led her to joining Nanyang
Academy of Fine Art (NAFA Singapore) Dance Diploma in 2004. In this
dipolma, she had studied many dance styles in depth, such as
Contemporary, Jazz and Ethic Dances. As part of this programme, she
was also actively involved in various of dance performances e.g
Chinese Culture Festival ” Urban Tapestry”, Graduation Show Year
2006 “Revota”, “ Aspirations” Da:ns Festival in Esplanade Singapore
and Bangkok, etc. Not only she had brought back her vast performance
experiences, Ivy was given opportunities in choreographing various
dance pieces such as “Trinity" (dancers@workinNAFA)and“Nostalgia”.
After graduation, Ivy has joined Dancepointe Singapore as a
Classical Ballet Dance Teacher in its Jurong and Sengkang branches.
Also, she teaches in numerous dance enrichment programs and dance
CCA in schools such as Gan Eng Seng Secondary School, Pasir Ris
Crest Secondary School, St Theresa Secondary School, Zhen Hua
Primary School and more. To further enhanced her teaching standards,
Ivy is still dancing and is part of People’s Association, as a
dancer in Modern Contemporary, which brought her to more dance
exposures such as “Soundwave 2007-Singapore” and “16th Asean Summit
2007”. Currently, she is also pursuing her RAD Advanced Classical
Ballet and RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies Program with
Dancepointe Singapore.
Classical Ballet
Ms Leia Ang
Ms Leia Ang
started her dance training when she was five. Under Madam Fang, Ai
Jia was exposed to ballet syllabus such as RAD and CSTD. She
graduated from Saint Andrews Junior College in 2002 with an ‘A’
levels certificate. She made a turning point in life and decided to
join NAFA’s Dance Department for a full-time dance career. After
graduating from NAFA with a Dance diploma, she teaches both dance
enrichment programs and dance CCA in schools – Zhenghua Primary
School, Opera Estate Primary School, Hong Kah Secondary School, Yio
Chu Kang Secondary School, etc. She is currently dancing with the
People’s Association, which she took part in their projects -
“Singapopera” August 2007 and 16th ASEAN Submit 2007. She
is also a dancer at Frontier, and was involved in their production,
Memory, in October 2007 and The Masters and Mistresses in March
2008. She has so far worked under choreographers Albert Tiong,
Armgard von Bardeleben, Daniel Yeung, David Hsiao Yuan-Pin, Gillian
Tan, Low Mei Yoke and Peter Teo.
She is currently a Classical Ballet
Teacher with Dancepointe for the children classes.
Classical Ballet
Ms Charlotte Wong
Ms
Charlotte Wong started dancing, mainly international dance, since
the age of seven, in her school dance group. She took up Classical
Ballet only when she was thirteen and trained for Grade 6 RAD
examination with Ms Lena Foo. She has excelled in Ballet and
completed her RAD examinations with straight distinctions from Grade
6 to 8. Due to strong passion in dancing, she was actively involved
in various dance performances and competitions such as Singapore
Youth Festivals (SYF) during her school days till now. She had also
completed her RAD Intermediate Foundation major examination and is
currently pursuing her studies for higher levels in the Vocational
Graded Examinations. Not only in ballet, has she also been exposed
to other forms of dance such as Jazz and Hiphop under Mr Shaun Lee. With her passion in children's
education, Charlotte is currently pursuing her diploma in Early
Childhood Education in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and at the same time
teaching children's ballet in Dancepointe @ Taman Jurong and Jurong
West Recreation Centre.

Dance
Mr Nigel Peh
Nigel started Classical Ballet training at the age of seventeen.
He obtained his Dance Diploma after three years’ of rigorous dance
technique training and theoretical studies at the LASALLE-SIA
College of the Arts, School of Dance (2002-2004). Nigel had studied
dance since his Secondary School days under the tutelage of Mrs.
Jane Ch’ng, Miss Alice Lee, Mr. Tony Llacer and Mr Donato C.
Ferrer.
He is an avid reader and practitioner of dance technique,
teaching methodology as well as body conditioning. Mr. Nigel aspired
to be a dance teacher and choreographer (Modern Dance) since young.
He cherishes the infinite regenerative prospect of teaching dance
and preparing the next generation of dancers for the Stage.

Ms Seong Hui Xuan
Ms
Seong Hui Xuan began her dance training in Ballet when she was 6
years old at Practice Performing Arts School where she trained until
she was 19. She first learned Modern Dance in Secondary School under
Ms Low Mei Yoke and also took up Jazz at various external studios
during this time. In 2005, she joined Jitterbugs Swingapore’s
Developing Artists’ Programme (DAP) from which she graduated in
2006. Under the programme’s intensive training scheme, she was able
to further develop and improve her Jazz techniques and also picked
up a variety of different dance forms such as Hip Hop, Tap, Lindy
Hop and Salsa.
Hui Xuan has extensive
performance experiences on stage, from Jazz to Hip Hop to Modern
Dance, for university dance productions, commercial shows, dance
showcases, competitions, as well as external dance productions and
musicals. Her recent dance performance credits include Take Flight (2006), (Jitterbugs Swingapore’s DAP);
Arts Education Programme (2006) for Frontier Danceland; NTUC Mayday
Rally (2006); Chingay (2006 & 2007); Dance Uncensored (NUS
Kent Ridge Hall 2007); and Dance Reflections (NUS Dance Blast
2007). Hui Xuan is also involved in the Musical Theatre scene,
having performed in local musicals such as Man of Letters
(Singapore Repertory Theatre SRT 2006), Forbidden City
(SRT, 2006) and Georgette (Musical Theatre Limited,
2007).
She also holds a long
list of choreographing credits including dances for Take Flight
(2006), Dance Uncensored (2007) and the NUS Rag Day (2007). In
addition to her passion in dancing, she will be commencing her
studies in the Musical Theatre programme at LASALLE-SIA College of
the Arts this August.
Hui Xuan teaches Street
Jazz for adults in Dancepointe @ Tampines Central Community Centre
and Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre. She will be also
conducting the Jazz kids ATOD syllabus at our new Jurong West
branch.

Mr Jacky Lim
Mr Jacky Lim started dancing to Hip Hop in his NUS days under NUS Dance Blast. For the past 6 years, he had joined various competitions, performed in several shows and also coached for many institution and corporate events. Jacky was part of the winning crew for Funkamania, Danceworks, Impresario, Passion, WCG, Remix, Dance Unite and PSC nite. He also appeared on TV in the Chinese TV drama series “Rainbow Connection”. Jacky choreographed for NUS Rag & Flag, Temasek Hall productions, Dance Uncensored and Dance Reflections. Besides competing and doing private corporate shows, Jacky believed very strongly in sharing Hip Hop with the public. Through performing in heartland shows, charity events and teaching his students in classes, he hopes to share the love for dance with everyone.

Mr Manfred Goh
Mr Manfred Goh started dancing during his University days and
has won numerous dance competitions. His team - Danzto was
Champions of NUS Zaam 3 Dance competition and was 1st runner-up for
Funkamania in 2001.
In the same year, Manfred passed the
auditions and was selected to be one of the scholars of MediaCorp
Dance Academy, under the tutelage of Laura Bong and Bill Calhoun,
judges of the popular National Reality TV Dance Competition -
The Dance Floor.
Manfred went on to perform on National TV in
many big shows like National Countdown to New Year Celebrations, NKF
Charity, Miss Universe Singapore and Phua Chu Kang Musical. Together
with his team LXD, Manfred came in first in Pacific "Jazz it Up"
Dance Competition and was 2nd runner-up for Suntec Dance Competition
in 2003.
In 2004, Manfred started Salsa dancing under the
tutelage of Jaztin and has grown to become an excellent Salsa
performer, competitor and Instructor. He was Champion of Xenbar
Salsa Competition in 2006. Manfred has both performed, competed
intensively for these years and was invited to teach both locally
and overseas.

Contemporary Dance
Mr Dan Kwoh
Mr Dan Kwoh started training from the age of 11 and had performed extensively in Contemporary Chinese Dance with Dance Development Theatre. Later on, he received a Scholarship to study Diploma in Dance at LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts 2001-2003 and also became a Scholar in Singapore Ballet Academy since 2003, under the tutelage of Ms Ong Long. There were numerous other scholarships and awards he received including the Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship from the National Arts Council (2001); Outstanding Student Scholarship in the 6th Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, Singapore (CSTD) Summer School (2002); Winner of the Open Modern Dance Solo (2003) and the Best Male Dancer Award (2005) in CSTD's Theatrical Festival in Perth.
Dan has performed in the first Asian premiere of Madame Butterfly (2003), The Nutcracker (2005) presented by Singapore Dance Theatre and Singapore Arts Festival 2005 - Royal Ballet Swan Lake. He has also participated in major Singapore and International Arts/Dance Festivals in countries such as China, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
Dan was the assistant choreographer for the Singapore National Day Parade 2005 - Parade @ Padang and is part of the choreography team for National Day Parade 2006.
