~~~Sparkz 3 Day Dance Workshop~~~

DancePointe will be organizing a 3 day Dance Workshop for children 3-6 years old this coming March Holiday, 16th to 18th March 2009 from 1pm to 5pm daily. The dance workshop, named Sparkz, will have a total of 9 dance lessons which include genres such as creative ballet, children yoga and kids hiphop. The dance workshop serves to provide an enriching learning experience for the children to have an insight of how an open class is like and yet have plenty of fun at the same time. Sparkz will be held at our Jurong West branch (Jurong West Sports and Recreation Centre), which is next to the newly open Pioneer MRT Station. The price of Sparkz will be $90.00 (for 9 lessons, 1 hour per lesson). Early Bird special!! First 10 signups will be entitled to a $10 off! ~~~Our Success in Magical Wonders!~~~

The DancePointe Biennial Performance 'Magical Wonders ~ Make your dreams come true!' was a tremendous success! We would like to thank all our 700 students from all 3 branches of DancePointe, teachers, parents and helpers for all their hard work and effort they have put in to make the performance a resounding success.

Held at Victoria Theatre on 10th December last year, 'Magical Wonders ~ Make your dreams come true!' revolves around a fairytale at a land called the "Magical Wonders". A prince sends his bravest warrior in search of princesses deemed worthy of his true love. Audiences were delighted to meet the 6 princesses, such as the lovely Princess Jasmine, as they went for the audition to be the prince's love.

~~~2008 Dance Tour to Jean Wong School of Dance, City Contemporary of Dance and StudioDanz!~~~

In addition to the performance in December, our dance director together with 2 other teachers led a team of 30 students to Hong Kong for their Dance Tour (14- 21 Dec 08). In one of the most prestigious Dance school in the Asia Pacific region – Jean Wong School of Dance, our students were exposed to learning the various genres of dance, such as Classical Ballet, Jazz and also Chinese dance from the Beijing Dance Syllabus.
As for contemporary, we were pleased to vsit the City Contemporary of Dance Centre for our contemporary classes, where most teachers were graduates of The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.

And that year was a special year for Dancepointe too! This round we have our Hip Hoppers for the first Overseas Dance Program! But of course, they didn’t do ballet for their dance tour! They visited StudioDanz where our students were motivated by the various classes such as breaking, popping and locking and also jazz moves.

Besides dancing, our students had a few days of shopping in the bustling city of Hong Kong! Imagine that! And also to the famous Ocean Park where they thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing the park rides on the last day at Hong Kong, and they were even reluctant to leave for the airport!

This was indeed an unforgettable trip to Hong Kong, and we look forward to sharing this experience with our next batch of Dancepointe students.
